I never was satisfied dressing my kids up in the “same ol’ same ol’ ” costumes year after year. I was always on the lookout for something new, something different to really wow the grandparents. If you’re looking for something different to dress your little one in this year, take a look at the great options below!  Some of them are original new ideas, while others are new twists on more traditional costumes – but they’re all super colorful and sure to please!

Scout the Scarecrow is a beautiful costume for little girls. It includes the dress with colorful tutu skirt, leggings and the adorable scarecrow hat with it’s sunshiny sunflower detail. 

This Itsy Bitsy Spider costume is a riot of colors with purple and orange striped arms and a green polka dot belly. This costume includes the detachable hood and also has non-slip shoe covers for indoor use. 

The next new costume for 2011 transforms your little baby into a beautiful Purple Butterfly! This precious costume featured the detachable hood and non-skid shoe covers, plus beautifully detailed wings which are also removable, so you don’t need to worry about them getting crushed in the car seat.

This orange and blacked striped jump suit zips up the back and is fully lined plush for maximum comfort for your baby.  It has convenient snaps on the inner legs, so diaper changes are a … snap! 

The hood is detachable and features a fuzzy tiger face with a black nose and perky ears. (The face reminds me of Calvin’s little tiger Hobbes!) It’s got an attached tail that hangs off the back. The costume also includes shoe covers with non-skid little tiger pads underneath – but make sure you only use them indoors; you’re little one might trip with them outdoors. 

This costume is great for little boys or little girls, and is available in sizes from 6 months to 2T. 

Scout is a great choice for those who prefer a costume that’s not all that scary.  This 3-piece costume consists of a pretty ballerina style dress in harvest colors of brown and gold plaid with an attached brown vest with orange ribbon. The attached skirt is  multi-color tulle tutu style.  It also includes the polyester leggings, decorated with matching patches for that “authentic scarecrow” look.

Remember that when you’re looking for a costume for your little one, fun is fun but safety and comfort should be your main concerns.  After all, your kiddo is going to look absolutely adorable in any costume, so make sure that the costume you pick won’t have him or her so uncomfortable that they won’t have fun trick or treating.
